Imagine That!

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace, you
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world, you
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Wow, what inspiring lyrics from John Lennon. I once told a man that this song makes me emotional and he called me a pussy, so I took Lennon's words to heart and I imagined that this man was nice to me.
Now imagine this my dear friends: imagine that this man was indeed a member of the Happy Internet Club! It is entirely possible, because while we are all digital friends, there is a big difference between digital friends and physical friends. I hope you all have physical friends. Now, if this is true, and the man who called me a pussy reads this and feels remorse knowing that he attempted to hurt the feelings of his dear digital friend, well let me say this: Sir, I forgive you. Because that is what friends do, don't they? They forgive one another. I hope that if I ever wrong you, you would find it in your heart to forgive me. The power of forgiveness rests in the hands of the wronged, isn't that interesting?
The man who called me a pussy can choose to ask for my forgiveness (and I am imagining that he has), but it is up to me to choose to forgive him. And forgive him I do, because that's what John Lennon would want. At least that is what I imagine he would want, because I can't imagine someone who would write such a lovely song ever wanting to hurt anyone, especially his spouse.
